Welcome to Amanda's Athenæum!

I'm Amanda and this is where I discuss family history and genealogy, libraries and archives, cultural heritage, travel, and books.  I live Central New York where I am married with a toddler and work in a public library as Assistant Director and in charge of Adult Services (programs and book buying).  I also present on customer service in libraries.  In May 2011 I received my MS in library and information science with a certificate of advanced study in cultural heritage preservation from Syracuse University.

In my spare time I:

  • Am a reader

  • Am an avid traveler and have been to 3 continents, a dozen countries and over 30 states

  • Love to sing, watch movies, and drink wine and bubble tea, depending on the occasion
